Halloween and Photoshop. My idea of a real treat!

I planted pumpkins for the very first time last June. I was amazed how those vines escaped their designated areas and infiltrated my tomato and pepper plants. I got wonderful big yellow blooms, but no pumpkins. I went to the source of all knowledge, Google, to try and find out why I wasn’t getting any fruit. Who knew. There are male and female flowers and if there aren’t enough bees to pollinate the female flowers, there won’t be any fruit. I even got instructions on how to hand pollinate the flowers, which I decided I would try next year.
We had our first frost the other night and I had contemplated ripping out all the remaining plants just two days ago. And low and behold, what do I find? Three days before Halloween, I have my first pumpkin. I don’t think I’ll be carving it though.
Garden of the Gods, Shawnee National Forest, Harrisburg, Illinois. Although this photo looks posed, I just happened to catch this sweet moment between a young couple who’d ventured to the edge of rock formation.

Breathtaking. Awe inspiring. Wonderful. Magnificent. Spectacular. Incredible. Awesome. Amazing. Stunning. All words to describe the United States Air Force Thunderbirds performance. If you ever have the opportunity to watch one of their shows, it is well worth the time and effort to see it. Unforgettable.

Seasons change; from winter to spring, spring to summer, summer to fall and fall to winter. To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven.
A time to be born, a time to die, a time to plant, a time to reap, a time to kill, a time to heal, a time to laugh, a time to weep, To everything there is a season
And a time for every purpose under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1.
