corleyfoto challenge fray
I have to admit I had to look up the definitions of “fray”. I thought there were a couple but I wanted to make sure one of the definitions was what I thought it was. According to the Merriam-Webster on line dictionary, fray means “to wear (as an edge of cloth) by or as if by rubbing”. This photograph of the large bust of Abraham Lincoln in front of his tomb in Springfield, Illinois, shows many years of thousands and thousands of visitors who rub Lincoln’s nose for luck. The patina has been rubbed off showing the gleaming brass underneath.
