Saturday, June 4, 2011, was the date of my oldest son’s wedding. It was a long time coming; he and his new bride already have a five year old son together. Personally, I believe that this waiting time was probably a good thing and I believe they will be in the 50% of couples who make it on the long haul.
The day was extremely hot for an early June afternoon wedding; breaking a record previously set in 1911 for 97 degrees. But the shade beneath the trees in the Lions Club Flower garden, along with the four foot circular fan, made the ceremony almost pleasant. The bride chose tangerine colored knee length strapless dresses for her bridesmaids and with the lush green colors of the trees and plantings, made for a stunning display.
